The new coronavirus, which causes a severe acute respiratory syndrome, SARS-CoV-2, emerged in the Hubei province, Wuhan region of the People's Republic of China, at the end of 2019, representing a threat to public health and causing an unprecedented global pandemic, the purpose of this research is to determine the prevalence of the main mental disorders in health workers and the general population, in the context of the coronavirus 19 (COVID-19) pandemic.Following the PRISMA guideline standards for systematic reviews, an investigation was carried out where 22 studies were included in the analysis, with a total of 24,593 participants. In the general population, anxiety had a prevalence of 36.4%; depression, 26.6%; stress, 44.2% and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 5.9%. The women presented more frequently symptoms of anxiety and depression, while the men manifested the majority of symptoms of stress. Among health professionals, stress and sleep disturbances were the dominant problems, both with a prevalence of 43%.The mental health of health professionals and workers working on the front lines, as well as that of the general population, has been seriously compromised in times of the COVID-19 pandemic, with anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia and PTSD as the most common conditions. prevalent.
