SARSCoV2 prevalence and maternal perinatal outcomes among pregnant women admitted for delivery en India

It is a retro-prospective study, conducted at the Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Maternity Hospital (SMGS) located in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India, dedicated to Covid-19 during a period of time that goes from September 1 from 2020 to November 30, 2020. The SARS - CoV - 2 screening was performed on all pregnant women admitted for delivery during that period, obtaining a total of 3165 women, using RT - PCR all newborns from SARS - CoV - 2 positive mothers to screen for SARS - CoV - 2 infection. Most of the pregnant women (90.6%) were asymptomatic at the time of admission, and no that no newborn of pregnant women with SARS - CoV - 2 positive was positive for the infection by SARS - CoV - 2. Analyzing the medical records of these patients, the majority of pregnant women positive for SARS - CoV - 2 came to present freckle take light intakes without developing serious disease. In this study the vertical mother-to-child transmission of SARS - CoV - 2 could not be confirmed, however, extensive research work must be done to evaluate the long-term results.
