In this study done in Barcelona, Spain, five out of 543 patients (0.92%) who were admitted to Hospital Clinic Barcelona were HIV positive, under 50 years of age and identified as MSM. In addition, four were virally suppressed, one was ART-naïve, two were sex workers, and one had been to a chemsex party 6 days before admission, highlighting the need for health education programs to prevent clusters of SARS-CoV-2 transmission. Their COVID-19 clinical presentations were similar to that of the general population, two were admitted to the ICU, and all five patients were put on an ART regimen based on protease inhibitors, either lopinavir-boosted ritonavir or darunavir-boosted cobicistat. More studies in this population is needed.
